Expected due dates For Mhada Lottery 2014
Every year the MHADA organizes for lottery that encompasses both the boards that are governed by it, namely, the Konkan board and the Mumbai board. The Mumbai board is responsible for providing accommodations in the areas of Santa Cruz, Dahisar, Prateeksha Nagar etc; while the Konkan board takes up the job of providing the same in the Virar region. In the year 2014, the application forms would be made available through the MHADA website from April 15.
The same can also be collected from the administrative offices. The aspirants then should fill up the forms duly and submit the same within the date range of April 24 to May 16. The applications can either be submitted online or can be dropped at the administrative offices. Any application that is submitted after May 16 gets cancelled automatically. MHADA officials then make a thorough scrutiny of the forms thus submitted verifying the details provided, and select the ones that are valid to be accepted on the day of the lottery.
This year the lottery draw would be held on May 31. The applicants are allowed to remain present at the draw to maintain transparency. However, the size and valuation of a flat may change even after the lottery draw. Also, MHADA takes no responsibility for power or water supply in the flats.
On the day of the lottery draw, the completed forms are shuffled around on the ground, and then the drawing is done from huge garbage bags. MHADA has always tried to maintain utmost fairness and transparency in the whole process – right from the collection of the forms to the drawing of the lottery and allotment of the flats.
